Remove the radio
On the Saab 9-3 (2003–2012) and 9-5 (1997–2010) the radio is located in the centre of the dashboard. Remove the trim panel with a plastic pry tool, then the Torx screws on the side of the unit.

Read the serial number
The serial number is on the label on the side or top of the radio. Saab mainly uses Alpine radios, sometimes Bose. Note the serial number in full — usually 5 or 14 characters.
